What is Kokedama?
Living in the Pacific Northwest, I’m surrounded by nature, specifically moss. lots of moss.
kokedama has it’s origin in japan. they are potless plants, sometimes called “the poor man’s bonsai”.
i’m not going to lie to you, they can be a challenge to keep alive. they need moisture, but not too much. they like a fine mist. they are happiest in a warm, humid environment. and above all, they do not love direct sunlight.
however, if you have a colander and some indirect sunlight, and you really pay attention to your plants, kokedama will be happy in your world.
fill a bowl with room temperature water.
Place your kokedama in the water, plant side up with the moss ball fully submerged. Allow it to soak until fully saturated with water (10-20 minutes should do).
Remove kokedama and gently squeeze out the excess water and Allow to drip dry in a colander.
if you ever have questions about your kokedama, please feel free to call us at curious plants and treasures!
